A Little Cliche of Wisdom

We've heard it many times throughout our lives, and if you're anything like me, it's something that you try to teach your children - you should never judge a book by its cover.

Personally, I know it's not always easy. After all, we are only human and are initial tendencies aren't always the best. We tend to be quick to judge and quick to dismiss. It really is a shame, isn't it?

If a picture is worth a thousand words, than a video, especially this one, must be worth at least 10,000. Please watch this, turn your volume, call your loved ones over, and prepare to learn an incredible lesson.

Sorry I can't embed it so you'll have to click over, but trust me, it is more than worthwhile. So click here, and then come back and share your thoughts with me.

Eric and I have watched this at least a dozen times since we first found it last night - definitely a thing I love this Thursday!

Loved the video! Thank you for sharing this link. You never know where those diamonds are hiding. My husband and I watched it together and were pleasantly surprised. The reactions of the judges was priceless. Thanks again.

I cried when I watched this yesterday. My son cried too. I hope it's not quickly forgotten.

I don't often follow links on blogs, but I'm so glad I followed this one. Amazing. I don't often comment, either, but this deserved a HUGE thank you for sending me over to that link!

WWWOOOWWW! Oh my goodness. You are so right. The cover may not have been stunning, but oh my what a set of pipes! My husband (a musician by trade) stopped what he was doing and came in to listen! Thank you for sharing.

I saw that yesterday, and oh my goodness I just started crying when I heard her voice! What an amazing talent!

Wow, that gave me chills all over. That son always, always makes me cry. What a voice!

I saw this earlier today on my internet homepage. It absolutely gave me goosebumps! Everytime she hit a high note it sent shivers down my spine. Just an amazing voice.

I've seen that video a half dozen times since it first came out and it still makes me tear up. Who could NOT be rooting for that sweet woman!

I totally loved watching the judges' faces of utter shock and disbelief! You are so correct about judging a book by it's cover. Makes me think... what else are we missing out on by judgmental?

P.S. I enjoyed my first visit to your "home" :-)

A Grammatical Disclaimer

I freely admit to consistently using improper grammar in the following areas:
1. I like run-on sentences.
2. I have a tendency to end sentences with a pronoun. (I really do. I can't help it.)
3. I always seem to use passive voice in my sentences. (See?)

I've been trying to break this habit, unsuccessfully, for years, so now I just accept that as my writing style, and since I'm not writing for grades anymore, I embrace it. (Again, see?)
