Gardening Dreams

I have dreamt of having a huge garden for as long as I can remember. Our current home doesn't provide much opportunity for that though. I think the association would frown on us tearing up common areas to plant a garden. Although I've considered trying to get all of our neighbors on board with a community garden, I know that's unrealistic.

But I know I could do a container garden and still be able to yield lots of produce. I just don't know where to start with that or all the logistics involved. I think I might have to stop in at Home Depot on May 14 to take part in their free gardening workshop. I bet I could learn all kinds of useful information.

oh I am totally seeing what our local HD and Lowe's have to offer. I need some serious gardening help.

I started my first container garden this spring. I planted 4 strawberry plants (no seeds for me!), 1 red pepper, 1 orange pepper, 1 cherry tomato plant, and 1 normal tomato plant. We have the beginnings of 5 cherry tomatoes and 4 strawberries right now, with so many pepper buds! The kids love checking the veggies everyday! I am using a rectangular planter with a slow release fruit and veggie feed in the soil, and a coer over the top with holes for the plants to come through. We are getting a ton of rain right now, so this helps keep over water to a minimum. Good luck!

I wish you lots of fun and happy planting! I have a black thumb so I think I'll decline on joining in the fun, although I do have to attempt to spruce up my garden. It is in desperate need of some TLC.

A Grammatical Disclaimer

I freely admit to consistently using improper grammar in the following areas:
1. I like run-on sentences.
2. I have a tendency to end sentences with a pronoun. (I really do. I can't help it.)
3. I always seem to use passive voice in my sentences. (See?)

I've been trying to break this habit, unsuccessfully, for years, so now I just accept that as my writing style, and since I'm not writing for grades anymore, I embrace it. (Again, see?)
